First of all I'm a UK Occupational therapy student, who used customessays.co.uk
Again, these guys are from india, and use cut & paste method from other peoples essays.

I wanted an essay about reflective practice and was very specific. What i got was an essay which was obsviously written buy a Nurse, then in the middle of the essay described an incident that happened in an A & E or an ER department!! and how they dealt with it.

It was completely shameless plagiarizing of someone else's essay. Then when i wanted it revised, it changed to another prewritten essay. This piece did not even include an introduction or conclusion.

They got quite nasty when I complained when the essay was ten days overdue & not what i wanted so I wanted my money back.
They then said because I downloaded the essay I had used it, even though you have to download the essay to read and check the bloody thing.

Then as a last throw of the dice, the writer came back begging to do another piece of work for free!

I then explained I didnt not want or need an essay from them.
They then went very quiet.!!

A tip is when you open the word document you get from them, Click on properties and you will normally see the name of the original author.

I urge you to think twice about using them, it actually caused me a lot of stress, and more work I might as well done the essay piece myself in the end.

Just a quick update, there was an investigation on BBC's Radio 5 on this type of service, and used a standard essay question from an economics degree course, then had a university lecturer mark it, with other essays so he could not tell which one it was from. Basically it was a cut & paste job from a economics magazine, which didnt even address the question. it failed miserably plus, it didnt even reference its soures.

Even more amazingly the managing Director of customessays came onto the radio and defended himself and about the quality of service he gives, plus stating that all his employees/ writers are based in England. What a bloody liar, however its a shame the programme did'nt mention this site, I think they would have been shocked.

Even more shocked was I when he said he is making about 2million quid a year!!!

I ordered an essay from these guys a couple of days ago and i really wish i hadnt. within a couple of hours i looked all over their website to find a way to cancel but couldnt. What i did find while reading as a website littered with obvious grammatical errors. i wish id read it properly the first time, it didnt appear to be written by someone who was a native english speker. I have now emailed them to cancel my order, what do you think are my chances of a refund from them? I have not recieved the essay and it is now past the deadline i paid for - do u think this counts for anything?? i have also emailed my credit card company to find out if i can do some sort of indemnity claim. I paid £244. Thanks

It sounds like you are in the UK - if this is the case and if you paid by credit card you should be able to get the money back from your credit card company even if the essay company won't refund you. Consumer protection laws are stronger in the UK than in the USA. Just complain to the card company that you did not receive what you paid for - good not as described.

They say on their website that they have a 24 hour phone line - have you called them to find out what is happening with your essay? There is a seven day cooling off period for online purchases under the distance selling regulations so if you haven't received the essay try and talk to someone / confirm your cancellation with this company - maybe a recorded delivery letter to the Sheffield address that the company has on their website - if you can prove you made contact and cancelled the order your card company will refund you straight away.

If its more than 7 days, you still need to keep trying to contact them and keep a log of all the attempts you have made. If you don't get an essay or are not happy with the essay then contact your credit card company and - like the person above says - tell them that what was provided is not as described on the website (ie not original). The credit card company - if they agree will then chargeback your account.

If the chargeback is reversed - which can happen - then you need to tell the credit card company that you are making a claim for reimbursement against the card company under The Consumer Credit Act 1974 and the European E-commerce Directive 2002. The card company has to reimburse you and it's then up to the card company to pursue the offending essay company to get the money back.

I should add that you won't get any support from your card company if you just say that any essay received is just poorly written / has poor grammar / poor spelling as they will say that appreciation of the content is subjective. If you get the essay and you make a claim, you need to say that the essay clearly doesn't meet any reasonable interpretation of the subject matter, or that you were promised a customised essay and what you got was plagiarised and list the sources. I got my money back through my credit card company because I printed off the webpages that the essay company had plagiarised in creating the "custom" essay.

As a general bit of advice - never use any online company that asks for payment direct into their bank account - and several UK based essay companies do - as you have no protection.

Thanks for your advice, I put in 3 requests to cancel the order which all appeared on the website in my account, and i printed them all off as they showed the time, date etc. I then got a messge from the "Writer" who did not appear to have a very good grasp of English asking for a 24 hour extension. I replied again saying no, I have cancelled and i would like a refund. I then called the freephone number to cancel. The person I spoke to said it would be cancelled and i would get a refund within 10 working days - I hope this is true!
Later when i went back into my account it did say the status was "Order Cancelled", I've also printed this off.
My credit card company got back to me saying the transaction is showing as pending at the mo, and once that has cleared and is showing as an actual transaction I can try and do something about it

One way or another I hope i get my money back! From what you say above, and what i also think, I assume that since the order is cancelled, and i have proof from their website that it has been, I have a good basis for a refund.

I desperate need help with a few essays too but not sure which company to ask for. I read good things about esssaytown and also superiortermpapers.com(or which is the same company paperexperts.com). Have you ever heard about any of them? As it is my first time Iwonder how it works and if I should order a proposal of 1500wd for me to write something on top or the essay in itself. i really have not enough time as quite a few essays to start and still to finish. It's better for you if you edit / rewrite any essay you order then you will be familiar with the contents and able to discuss it with your tutors. Rewriting will also help you get more familiar with the subject area which is handy for when exams come around. I would never advise anyone to hand in an essay that they had not worked on themselves.

As for which companies? I don't know if people are allowed to post recommendations as this site is for people who are complaining about bad companies or students who fail to pay for what they've ordered.
